has thanked first responders for tackling the that have caused widespread havoc across Los Angeles. The retired actor was seen showing his gratitude with handshakes as he warmly greeted police offers in a rare public outing.
In a video posted online to by his wife Emma, the American icon was filmed speaking to LAPD officers and posed for photographs whilst wearing jeans, a jacket and a baseball cap.
Emma penned: “Spotting a first responder, Bruce never missed a chance to show his gratitude with a heartfelt handshake and a “thank you for your service.” Yesterday was no different.”
The 69 year old, who is currently battling dementia, has rarely been seen in public since his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis. He now divides his time between Los Angeles and his second home in Idaho.
Many fans took to the comments section to say how happy the actor looked. One fan said: “Such a beautiful caring man. They will appreciate it so much too x.”

A second person also typed: “Because that is who he is. That never, ever goes away. It’s the heart and soul of him.”
A third also commented: “He has always been great with the public and a great human being. Cognitive deficits cannot take that away from him.”
Bruce’s daughter, who he shares with ex-wife Demi Moore, also left a comment saying: “This makes my heart so freaking full.”

Prior to the new year, Bruce and Emma celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary. The former model marked the special moment with a throwback photo on .
She wrote: “Anniversaries used to bring excitement — now, if I’m honest, they stir up all the feelings, leaving a heaviness in my heart and a pit in my stomach.
“I give myself 30 minutes to sit in the ‘why him, why us,’ to feel the anger and grief. Then I shake it off and return to what is. And what is… is unconditional love. I feel blessed to know it, and it’s because of him. I’d do it all over again and again in a heartbeat.”
Bruce is the proud parent to five children: Rumer, 36; Scout, 32; and Tallulah, 30, with his ex-wife Demi, 61, as well as Mabel Ray, 12; and Evelyn, 10.
