Brighton seafront covered in snow
With the UK in the depths of winter, the mercury continues to hover around the 0C mark for many across the country. Now one forecaster is predicting snowfall across several areas before January’s end, as well as 400-mile wall of snow striking multiple cities.
Online forecaster WX Charts predicts that January 29 will see southern and eastern areas of England hit by a band of snow.
The frosty arrival is expected in the Scottish Highlands in the small hours of January 29, before briefly hitting the north-west of England.
However, by noon, the eastern areas as far north as Middlesbrough, and southern areas as far south as Brighton, will be hit by a thick band of snow.
London, Manchester, and Birmingham may all see snow at some point during January 29.
WX Charts predicts a wall of snow stretching from the North Sea into central France
The snow wall will actually stretch into the North Sea and finish in central France, south of Paris. It will be around 400 miles in total, according to WX Charts.
Meanwhile the does not predict snowfall in precise areas so far ahead of time, as forecasting data is unreliable at this range.
However, the national forecaster has said that there is a possibility of snowfall towards the end of the month. “There is a small chance…”, the forecaster said, that winds “…could turn much more easterly, and colder, bring the risk of snow showers.”
