Ruben Amorim would not be drawn on Marcus Rashford’s future despite reports suggesting have held talks with the forward’s representatives today. Italian publications claimed that Rashford’s entourage were set to tell Old Trafford chiefs their client’s preferred destination during crunch discussions.
AC Milan are said to be leading the race to sign Rashford. The 27-year-old has not featured in the since December 7 and his last competitive outing saw him hauled off against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League.
Amorim has shown little desire to reintegrate the England international into his thinking, with Rashford not named in the squad for six of United’s last seven matches. He is said to have missed the draw with and win over with an illness.
In response to a question about Rashford’s future, Amorim said: “I just want to win tomorrow [against Southampton]. My focus is to win tomorrow, I will choose the players that I think are best to win the game tomorrow. I am just focused on that.”
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Rashford’s representatives were due to hold talks with United over their client’s future today. Milan are said to be favourites to win the competition for his signature. United are reportedly open to a loan move.
But the Serie A giants will face competition from the likes of , Borussia Dortmund and Monaco.
