Kate stunned in a brown and burgundy ensemble, but she appeared to have ditched her £300,000 engagement ring and opted for her £1,500 eternity ring instead.

Regularly viewed as the future Queen’s most iconic piece of jewellery, her sapphire and diamond engagement ring used to belong to her husband, ‘s late mother, Princess Diana.

The glittering ring features a 12-carat Ceylon sapphire from Sri Lanka in a royal blue colour.

In its place, Kate wore her eternity ring, which is believed to have been gifted to her by William following the birth of their son, Prince George in 2013.

Kate was seen wearing her eternity ring several times in 2024, with various jewellery experts suggesting the change could be due to the fact her eternity ring was more practical for everyday wear.

Tobias Kormind, co-founder and MD of , has previously said said: “Kate’s new ring is a wide eternity band set with sapphires interspersed with diamonds and seems to be around 3 to 4 carats total.

“A similar piece at 77 Diamonds starts from about £4,000. The ring is a nod to Kate’s sapphire engagement ring which belonged to Princess Diana and was unusually chosen by the late Princess from a catalogue.”

The expert added: “Kate’s new ring may be a symbol of hopeful new beginnings, with a poignant connection to the past.

“Eternity rings represent everlasting love, and this style of ring was also in tune with the touching video, where Kate was seen spending time with her loved ones.”
