has stepped out in today for a very special event taking place .

Charles was all smiles as he joined and his wife , the newest celebrity ambassadors for the King’s Foundation, to mark the launch of the charity’s 35th anniversary year celebrations.

He looked sharp in a grey suit, a white pinstriped shirt, and a pale pink tie and gold cufflinks. He warmly greeted Sir Rod Stewart and his wife, shaking their hands and smiling. Both dressed in camel tones, Rod and Penny, wrapped up warm in chilly Scotland.

During today’s celebratory event, the King placed the first item into the charity’s time capsule to mark the year of celebrations.

, previously known as The Prince’s Foundation, is a charity founded by Charles when he was Prince of Wales in 1990 and aims to “advocate for the change His Majesty wants to see in the world”.

Throughout the year, the charity will collect various items for the time capsule, which will focus on what inspired people – its students, alumni, ambassadors and partners – to devote their time to protecting the built and natural world, in line with the legacy of the Foundation.

The time capsule will then be buried in the estate and will be opened in 100 years.

The time capsule itself was designed and made from oak at the Snowdon School of Furniture, part of The King’s Foundation at Highgrove, by King’s Foundation alumnus Aiden Lawley.

Its design has been left intentionally plain to both celebrate the British timber used and to give space for other students and alumni to add decorative elements throughout the year.

A newly created bust of Charles, created by a former King’s Foundation student, Lily Marsh, who now runs a successful sculpting business, will also be on show during the event.
