ITV’s Lorraine Kelly wears patch on her bottom as she admits ‘it changed my life’

During a frank discussion on her chat show, Lorraine Kelly confessed that a “patch” on her bottom has “changed” her life.

The Scottish presenter spoke with Dr Amir Khan about the effectiveness of health patches when she made this personal revelation. She started by asking: “Now, asking for a friend, what about anti-hangover patches?”

Dr Amir responded with a chuckle, “I am sure you are asking for a friend.. Again I am really sorry to burst people’s bubbles.

“These patches have vitamins, they have minerals and anti-oxidants, they say they are going to cure your hangover, it is nonsense,” reports .

He continued: “Hangovers are caused because you are dehydrated, you haven’t slept properly because of the effects of alcohol and that your blood sugars are low.

“So what you need to do to cure a hangover, there is no quick fix, you either drink lots of water or drinks with electrolytes in, have a nap, and have a fry up to get your sugars back up. That is the cure for a hangover.”

“Absolutely,” Lorraine concurred before declaring: “Some patches actually do work. I have got an HRT patch on my bottom as we speak and it has change my life. So somethings do actually work.”

This isn’t the first time Lorraine has spoken candidly about the menopause, as it’s a topic she frequently addresses on her show.

In a past interview with Lisa Snowdon, Lorraine confessed she “lost herself” prior to starting HRT.

“Honestly, the HRT patch on my bottom has changed my life, and so quickly as well, Lisa,” she shared.

“It didn’t take too long. I honestly thought I was losing it. I lost myself. I was flat. No joy. Nothing was going right, and then I went and got help. I know HRT is not for everyone. But please don’t dismiss it.”

The NHS explains: “Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a treatment to relieve symptoms of the menopause. It replaces hormones that are at a lower level as you approach the menopause.”

There’s a variety of methods for administering HRT, such as tablets, skin patches, gels, and vaginal creams, pessaries or rings. These treatments aim to alleviate menopausal symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, vaginal dryness, and a decrease in libido, among others.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
