ITV The Chase viewers sparks complaints as fans spot huge issue

Viewers of The Chase were not impressed with the contestants’ struggles with what seemed like overly tough questions during the latest episode.

In Wednesday’s offering (January 15), host Bradley Walsh welcomed four fresh faces onto the quiz show, each hopeful of walking away with a hefty cash prize.

However, the initial cash builder round presented an insurmountable obstacle for participants Amy and Thomas, who could only manage to answer two questions correctly.

As the usually smooth segment went awry with Bradley rapidly firing questions at them, dismay set in amongst the fans. They promptly vented their frustration on social media platform X, with one exasperated fan pleading: “Oh please make it end. Oh please.”

Another disgruntled spectator expressed: “This is exactly why I stopped watching The Chase. Every so often, I tune in to see if it has improved, and no, it hasn’t,” reports .

A different viewer lamented the team’s strategy, remarking: “Why is nobody considering the high offer? What a waste The Chase has become.”

Meanwhile, a fourth quipped about the day’s lineup: “This is shaping up to be a super team …. Said no one ever!!”

With participant Amy opting for the paltry sum of £200 and her teammate Thomas later being ousted by Chaser Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty, prospects seemed bleak for the group.

Nevertheless, a glint of hope emerged as Emma, the third player, displayed promise.

Fans of the show were initially thrilled when contestant Emma secured £6,000 for the final round, but the atmosphere soured when fellow participant Mark, despite matching her performance in the cash builder, opted for a meagre £800 offer.

One irate viewer took to Twitter, exclaiming: “YOU GOT 6 GRAND IN THE CASH BUILDER AND YOU TOOK 800? MARK IN THE NICEST WAY POSSIBLE. WHAT THE FOOK?”

Another lamented the trend of low offers, commenting: “Low offers seem to be the norm now. Zero excitement as you automatically want/ hope they lose.”

Another fan reserved sympathy for Emma, writing: “The only person I feel sorry for out of those three is Emma. I hope she’s living her best life right now after being stuck with two low offer-takers.”

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV1
