Grantchester’s Tom Brittney to star alongside Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz in Netflix film

Tom Brittney, known for his role in ITV’s Grantchester, is set to depart the show after a six-year stint, with new ventures already on the horizon.

Brittney’s character, Reverend Will Davenport, was introduced in the fourth season as a replacement for Reverend Sidney Chambers (portrayed by James Norton) and has since been DI Geordie Keating’s (Robson Green) partner in crime-solving.

Regrettably, the 34-year-old actor announced his departure from the ITV series during its ninth run with his final scenes broadcasting tonight, Wednesday, January 15, at 9 pm.

In the last episode, viewers saw Will grappling with a sense of stagnation as his church congregation started to dwindle.

An offer from the Bishop to relocate to a new parish suggests a plausible exit route for Will.
