have been silent in the January transfer window thus far despite enduring the club’s worst-ever start to a season. The beginning of ‘s rebuild at Old Trafford has been delayed amid financial constraints that require player sales to fund any new arrivals this winter.

United are paying the price for splurging over £600million in less than three years to shape ‘s squad.

And the Red Devils will reportedly consider offers for all first-team players as part of the process of creeping further away from the limits imposed by PSR and FFP.

Marcus Rashford is widely expected to leave his boyhood club in the coming weeks after being left out of six of Amorim’s last seven squads.

But there is an increasing level of noise surrounding Alejandro Garnacho’s future amid interest from Serie A giants Napoli.

Antonio Conte has reportedly identified the 20-year-old winger as his preferred target to replace Paris Saint-Germain-bound talisman Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

And Italian outlets go as far as to claim that Garnacho has given Napoli the green light over a January switch if they can produce a suitable offer.

Neville believes there is weight to both potential high-profile departures, backing Amorim to continue making ruthless decisions to turn the tides in M16.

“It’s been in the news in the last 24 hours that bids are coming in for Garnacho,” the former United defender said on .

“There’s been news stories about Rashford going on loan or to another club. It genuinely wouldn’t surprise me if made these big types of calls. I don’t think he’s got anything to lose.”

Neville poured further fuel onto the fire by suggesting that it was a realistic possibility that United would spring into action before the winter transfer deadline.

The 49-year-old has expressed confidence that Amorim would receive replacements for Rashford and Garnacho if they were to exit.

He added: “This will be a big transfer window. It might not be as big as we think, but if Garnacho and Rashford were to go, they would be big moves.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if there was a mini clear-out and he brought in one or two players.”

While admitting that he has a tight budget to work with in January, Amorim suggested he was keen to launch his rebuild straight away at the start of the month.

“When the window is open, we can try to do something, and we will try to do something. I will keep that [positions] to myself. But we’ll try to do something,” Amorim explained.
