Ollie Schniederjans, who made a name for himself as the world’s number one amateur golfer in 2016 and went on to compete on the PGA Tour, is gearing up for a resurgence in 2025.

In recent years, the 31-year-old has been competing on the Korn Ferry Tour, securing a 100th-spot finish on the tour’s season-long points list last year.

Schniederjans has been presented with a new opportunity after being announced as a reserve player for LIV Golf, after having been named in the field for the Saudi-backed tour’s Promotion events in December. This fresh turn in Schniederjans’ career will allow him to also play on the Asian Tour International Series.

Schniederjans shared his excitement on social media, expressing: “Gearing up for 2025 and excited for the great opportunity to be a LIV Golf reserve player and to play the Asian Tour International Series this year.”

This opportunity allows Schniederjans to compete globally and will provide the flexibility to act as a substitute for LIV golfers across the 2025 season. Schniederjans will replace Ben Campbell, a New Zealander who has signed on with Bubba Watson’s RangeGoats GC.

Campbell made three LIV appearances and secured victory at the International Series Morocco on the Asian Tour. His move comes shortly after Luis Masaveu joined Sergio Garcia’s team, the Fireballs GC.

The Spaniard is replacing Eugenio Chacarra, and an ecstatic Garcia shared his thoughts with GolfMagic: “I am super excited to have Luis with us for many reasons, not only because he’s a good looking young star but he’s a world class person and that’s what we love on Fireballs. This is what we try to have. I’m super excited, he has a lot of potential and I think he fits perfectly with the team.”
