beloved series has teased an upcoming episode that promises to be a dramatic one for fans, as Trixie Aylward (Helen George), steps up to defend Nonnatus House. In a newly released preview, viewers will hardly recognise Trixie as she ditches her nurse’s attire.
In the teaser, Trixie is stylishly dressed in a chic blue midi skirt and coordinating blazer, complemented by a light blue collared shirt. She completes her look with black heels and carries a tan briefcase, ready for business.
The snippet shows Trixie in a tense discussion with Sister Julienne (Jenny Agutter), who reveals that the Board of Health has launched an assault on Nonnatus House.
Sister Julienne is visibly disturbed by the revelation, as she comments: “They do not like that the Order are, by definition, religious sisters.” Jenny Agutter has opened up about the storyline, expressing Sister Julienne’s relief at having Trixie’s support, as she is chosen to represent them before the council, reports .
Helen George elaborates on her character’s involvement, stating: “She’s very much taken under Sister Julienne’s wing in order to fight for the survival of Nonnatus House, and she fights, as ever, pretty hard.”

In the upcoming Sunday night episode, audiences will witness Trixie’s leadership qualities challenged as she is called upon to meet with Dr Threapwood.
The episode’s synopsis reveals: “Rosalind requires all her skills as a midwife when a disabled baby is delivered at the maternity home, whilst a gas explosion in an old tenement building shocks the community.
“Sister Julienne calls on Trixie’s managerial skills when she is summoned to a meeting with Dr Threapwood to discuss the renewal of their contract with the council.”

In anticipation of the new season, the show’s creator Heidi Thomas dropped hints about Trixie playing a pivotal role in the 14th season.
Speaking at a press event, Thomas disclosed: “Trixie continues to divide her time between her exciting new life in New York and life at Nonnatus House, and she becomes instrumental in a new management plan which results in the sustainment of life at Nonnatus House that gives her new management type of responsibilities.”
