Vancouver actor Joshua Jackson loses home in L.A. fires

Jackson, who rose to fame on the TV series Dawson’s Creek, was raised in the L.A. home before moving to Vancouver

Kitsilano Secondary School graduate and Hollywood-based actor Joshua Jackson is among the thousands of Angelenos who have lost their homes in the continuing urban inferno devastating the L.A. region.

“First and most importantly, all the people closest to me affected by the fire are OK,” said Jackson in a statement obtained by the publication. “My daughter, my family, my neighbours all made it out safely. Sadly, my beautiful home did not survive the fires. But today, I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the people I love.”

Jackson had a deep attachment to the $2 million home. He lived there until the age of eight, when his parents divorced and he moved with his mom and siblings to Vancouver.

When Jackson’s career took off after his role in Dawson’s Creek, he bought the home and has lived there ever since.

Other Hollywood stars who have lost houses include Mel Gibson, Jeff Bridges, Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Anthony Hopkins, Paris Hilton, Eugene Levy, Miles Teller, Candy Spelling, James Woods and Tina Knowles.
