People the age of 50 can apply for a visa to retire in Mauritius
For many, the idea of on an island somewhere and lounging around sun seems like a dream.
But it doesn’t have to be since the president of a gorgeous island is urging people across the globe to pack their bags, travel over there, and make that a dream a reality.
Dharambeer Gokhoo, the President of featured in a video posted by Aija Mayrock, where he urged over 50s to retire in his country.
He said: “I’m the president of Mauritius and I want you all to come and retire in the Republic of Mauritius.”
The stunning island country is in the Indian Ocean, located around 2,000 kilometres off the southeastern coast of East and it is currently home to just over one million people – which you could be one of.

The President continued: “We have a policy where anybody above 50 can come and retire and enjoy all the facilities in Mauritius.”
As well as being over 50, those who plan to take up President Dharambeer Gokhoo’s offer must submit a bank statement showing a minium of $18,000 ( 14,782.05) or have a montly income of $1,500 (£1232.12).
Residents also have the right to invest in any business, provided that you are not employed in the business and do not recieve a salary or employment benefits from it.
After that you can benefit from a 10-year Residence Permit, where you can sit back, relax and treat every single day as if it were a holiday.
