However, like all , the company has a long list of , including a wide range of aerosol cans.

Tourists getting ready to go on a Marella cruise should also make sure that they leave any item that features a heating element at home.

Whilst passengers typically love to bring some creature comforts from home, items like heated blankets, flat irons, and coffee machines are all banned as the elements they feature can vastly increase the risk of a fire breaking out on board.

Fortunately, the ban, which passengers will find on almost all cruise ships, does not include hair straighteners and curling irons.

Similarly, passengers planning to bring some types of battery on board a Marella ship may be left red faced at the cruise terminal.

This is also to prevent the risk of a fire breaking out, which could be difficult to put out if the ship is sailing between ports, sometimes dozens of miles away from land.

Whilst various forms of battery used in devices such as cameras or medical equipment are allowed to be brought onto the ship, passengers must never leave them unattended whilst charging.

Finally, Marella Cruises does not permit passengers to bring alcohol on board the ship, however drinks on board are free if tourists have a standard all-inclusive package.

They advised: “On your flight and once onboard our ships, you can only drink the alcohol that staff serve you.

“During embarkation, we have the right to search luggage and hold any alcohol that we believe has not been purchased on your flight – please retain your proof of purchase. Any alcohol that is not permitted onboard will be returned to you on your departure.”
