Conor McGregor reacted to Islam Makhachev
has surprised fans by reacting positively to UFC champion Islam Makhachev’s farm.
Over the years, McGregor has been known for his social media spats with Khabib Nurmagomedov and his team, including Makhachev. The Irishman famously lost to Nurmagomedov in 2018, and despite the Russian’s retirement in 2020, the feud remains active. However, McGregor appears to have softened his stance on Makhachev, who took over from Nurmagomedov and won lightweight gold in 2022.
Makhachev, who hails from the remote village of Burshi in Dagestan, owns a thousand-animal-strong farm where he relaxes when not fighting. His love for farming was revealed during a tour for the official ‘Countdown’ episode for UFC 311, an event which Makhachev will headline this weekend against Arman Tsarukyan.
In a surprising turn of events on social media, fans were left stunned to discover McGregor liked a video on Home of Fight detailing lightweight champ Makhachev’s farm life. Questions abound whether the action was accidental, a sign of his account being hacked, or an unexpected appreciation for Makhachev’s lifestyle.
Despite this softer sentiment towards Makhachev, McGregor’s animosity towards Nurmagomedov, a close ally and sparring partner of the Russian fighter, flared anew recently. The ex-lightweight world champ was caught in a viral verbal spat with crew onboard a flight from Vegas to LA.
Following the incident, McGregor took a sly jab at Nurmagomedov by following Frontier Airlines on . The altercation led to Nurmagomedov posting his version of events on social media platform X, asserting he was wrongly treated: “The lady who came to me with questions was very rude from the very beginning. Even though I speak very decent English and can understand everything and agreed to assist, she still insists on removing me from my seat.”
“What was the base for that; racial, national or another one, I’m not sure. But after two minutes of conversation, she called security, and I was deplaned from this aircraft. After 1.5 hours, I boarded another airline one and left to my destination. I did my best to stay calm and respectful, as you can see in the video. But those crew members could do better next time and just be nice with clients.”
