Guns seized, six arrested in Prince George raid
A Sunday afternoon police raid has led to the arrest of six people and the seizure of several weapons from a Prince George home.
At about 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, Prince George RCMP said, shots were fired in an area near Upper Fraser Road and officers zeroed in on a house in the 16700-block of East Perry Road.
“Due to the nature of the incident and the known history of those residing at that location, police officers contained the residence until they could obtain a firearms search warrant for the home,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper in a news release on Tuesday.
The north district emergency response team, an RCMP helicopter and a police dog were called in to help with the search.
Six people were arrested, five of whom were released as the investigation continues. The sixth was taken to jail on outstanding warrants. Two guns were found during the search along with an allegedly stolen vehicle.
