According to enthusiasts, there is no longer any need for introductions – and it’s taking time away from their beloved game.

Some of the millions of viewers of the show feel they already know the likes of , , , , and – and don’t need reminders. After one fan took to asking what others would “remove”, there was an emotional reaction.

“Definitely the Chaser introductions like Paul being smug, Jenny being hot etc,” one exclaimed. “They are not funny in the slightest and take away valuable time for hearing at least one more answer explanation in the head to heads from the Chaser.”

Another chimed in to rhyme off a list of the frequently heard comments: “Mark and his diet/weight loss, the fact that Darragh is a scientist/Irish by birth, the fact Shaun is a barrister/how ‘boring’ his book is (I haven’t read it but constestants have said it’s good/inspiring), and some gender comments (?) about Anne.” The user continued: “They’re not funny and are rather predictable by now.”

A third agreed that over-used “catchphrases” should be banished from the Chasers’ vocabulary, freeing up more time for playing. Though most agreed on the most irritating element of the show, one person had another idea.

“[I’d remove] the ability to claim your share of the money if you say you’re just ‘here for the experience’,” someone quipped.

The official The Chase: World Tour game has been available for download from Google Play since 2023 and is free.

However, new chasers are set to be announced for early 2025 to keep viewers engaged and interested, after some complained that it needed an update and a refresh.

There have been over 100,000 downloads already – and those who are accustomed to yelling at the TV during the heat of the action have another outlet now too, at any time of day.

The synopsis on the website reads: “Do you love trivia, general knowledge and quizzes? Standing in the way between you and the chance to win big are The Chasers, some of the finest quiz brains in the world.

Meanwhile, the more traditional TV show continues to air on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
