Strictly’s Vito Coppola addresses injury ahead of tour as he details ‘taking a rest’

Last year’s  finale saw the dynamic duo of and just missing out on the Glitterball Trophy to champions and.

However, excitement buzzed among fans as they anticipated the pair hitting the dance floor once more during the Strictly tour.

Yet, in a surprising turn, Vito revealed on with and that he’ll be sidelined by an injury for the first few shows. Nikita Kuzmin will be stepping in his dancing shoes initially.

Ben raised the injury topic, and Vito confirmed the situation, he commented: “I’ve got a little injury. It’s a dancer thing, you know. We’re kind of used to this pain a little bit in the body!”

The ITV host probed further after noticing Vito touching his back, to which the professional dancer confessed: “It’s like a lower back pain at the moment.”

He elaborated on the necessity of rest, especially since full-on dancing with lifts and sharp twists could exacerbate the injury, reports .

Nevertheless, Vito remained optimistic about rejoining Sarah on the dancefloor, aiming to be fit by the time the tour reaches Sheffield late in January.

He added: “Yeah, I’m going to do all the physio and all the assessments this week.”

Joining the chat, Sarah informed Ben and Cat about Vito’s struggle to stay still. Vita replied: “Looking at the rehearsals, I really want to jump in with the dancing!”

It’s not just Vito who’ll be notably absent from the tour; champion is also set to miss out due to a clash of dates with his own comedy tour.

Discussing his absence from the chance to partner up with Dianne once more on This Morning, Chris elucidated: “It’s fine to have two different feelings about the same thing.”

Expressing his mixed emotions, he continued: “I would’ve loved to have done more dancing with Dianne.

“It would’ve been a lot of fun, but also I’m very lucky to have people want to watch me do stand-up, and I’m enjoying getting back into that.”
