Liverpool boss Arne Slot may be getting a new striker this summer
have reportedly opened talks to sign Greek sensation Stefanos Tzimas from FC Nurnberg as they look to beat and to his signature.
The leaders appear to be considering bolstering their strikeforce with ongoing questions surrounding Darwin Nunez’s future.
The £85million signing has been linked with a move away from Anfield after struggling to score on a regular basis and reports suggest the Reds are looking to the future for a possible replacement.
Sky Germany report have ‘started talks’ with Bundesliga 2 outfit regarding a summer deal for Tzimas, who has been earning rave reviews in the German second tier.
It is claimed there was ‘a phone call’ between the two clubs ‘a few days ago’, in addition to the Merseyside outfit holding talks with the player’s agent.
The 19-year-old has scored eight goals in 13 games for Nurnberg this season and has been scouted by a number of top European clubs.
, Brighton, Aston Villa and Bayern, as well as a number of Bundesliga clubs, are being kept informed about a potential deal.
Tzimas is currently on loan from Greek Super League outfit PAOK but the German side have an option to make his deal permanent for £15.1m.

They will then seek to sell him immediately to the highest bidder with a £20.9m price tag, plus add-ons, and it appears are keen to snap up the young striker for a bargain fee.
Any potential deal could well hinge on whether Nunez makes for the exit after a largely disappointing spell in England since arriving from Benfica in the summer of 2022.
Nunez has scored 37 goals in 122 appearances for the Reds and has found the net only four times in 26 outings this term.
The 25-year-old has attracted interest from AC Milan in recent weeks and the Uruguayan, occupying the bench more often than not under , may opt for a fresh start elsewhere if a concrete bid arrives.

According to Anfield Watch, Nunez is also being tracked by Al-Hilal, who are coached by Jorge Jesus – his former coach at Benfica.
The Saudi Arabian club would be one of few clubs in the world armed with the financial power to afford Nunez, with ready to demand his £85m fee back in full.
When Slot was asked about Nunez’s issues in front of goal, the Dutchman backed him by insisting he offers more from his all-round play.
“For me he has an impact. If you only look at goals, he hasn’t scored as many as he wants to score or we want a number nine to score,” he said. “But he does have impact in his work rate and that’s not just to prevent the other team from making a chance, but also for us when we lose the ball to be aggressive and we can get the ball back and create chances.”
