It’s a super Monday at the , with , and Kyrgios all in action on the three biggest showcourts at the same time.

Kyrgios is back on arguably his favourite tennis court – John Cain Arena – to face Britain’s Jacob Fearnley. It’s the Aussie’s first Grand Slam match since the 2022 US Open, when he reached the quarter-final.

The 29-year-old has yet to step on the court in Melbourne Park but he’s already had a big influence on McEnroe, who admitted he changed his clothes on Kyrgios’ advice.

“I did speak to Nick Kyrgios before and he told me I was getting too dressed up so I’m trying to dress like Nick on camera,” the seven-time Major champion said on Eurosport.

Attention quickly turned to the schedule as McEnroe criticised organisers’ decision to put Kyrgios, Djokovic and Alcaraz on at the same time.

The American added: “I don’t know why they’re all playing at the same time, it makes no sense to me. Maybe they wanted a couple of extra dollars, fill the stadiums at the same time.”

Kyrgios will have to get used to being back on the court at a Major tournament after spending the last year following McEnroe’s lead and playing pundit.

During his lengthy injury layoff, the former world No. 13 commentated on the for Eurosport, worked for the at and for ESPN at the US Open alongside McEnroe.

The pair also got into a debate about their outfits while they were at . for his new role after the Australian rocked up in a puffer coat.

“When are you going to step up and get dressed up? You’re a good looking guy,” the retired ace quipped. “You are. When are you going to dress up and wear a suit?”

But Kyrgios jokingly explained he was trying to appeal to the “younger fans”.

Luckily for Kyrgios, he no longer has to worry about dressing up for TV cameras. The 29-year-old will be back to his old tricks on Monday night in Melbourne, competing on the match court in front of a home crowd.
