During Monday’s episode of took viewers by surprise with a startling remark directed at Gyles Brandreth.
On the program, alerted the audience that Gyles was suffering from sleep deprivation, having returned from America on Sunday.
Describing how he had taken to the stage in the UK within hours of his flight, Gyles quipped: “It teaches me that maybe you only need two or three hours sleep after all.”
While and Ben acknowledged that a lack of sleep would ultimately take its toll, Cat made the bold assertion, “He’ll sleep when he’s dead.” The comment slightly bewildered her colleagues.
Vanessa issued an awkward chuckle while Ben retorted: “That was quite dramatic!” Undeterred, Cat affirmed: “It’s ‘true’! Sleep when you’re dead!”

Gyles also chuckled at Cat’s extraordinary pronouncement, jokingly responding: “And it won’t be that long!” Ben steered the discussion towards the upcoming segment in light of the peculiar exchanged, reports .
However, those tuning in didn’t miss Cat’s offbeat interjection, with viewers expressing their amusement and bemusement on social media platforms. One exclaimed: “Cat ‘you can sleep when you’re dead’ what a thing to say.”
Another puzzled viewer said: “Cat to Gyles ‘You can sleep when you’re dead’ – wtaf? ” And someone else opined: “Cat is so awkward sometimes! ‘Sleep when you’re dead!'”

Touching on her own experience with sleep deprivation, Vanessa reflected on her early starts during her radio days, mentioning: “At 3:20am in the Morning, live on air at 4am for 12 years!
“I did think, in a way, you’re ahead of the game because everyone else is still slumbering. You’ve done everything, achieved everything, and read all the papers. It’s a marvellous feeling, in a way. But, you’re so tired you can’t enjoy a single minute of it.”
Echoing this sentiment, Ben added: “That’s the thing, it’s going to catch up with you at the other end.”

Cat joined the ITV show last year alongside Ben as the two new permanent hosts. According to The Sun, the 48-year-old has recently signed a new 12-month contract.
This would mean Cat would remain on the show until 2026, although she may not be around for long after her contract runs out for a second time.
A source told the publication: “Cat has confided to friends she is growing tired of it and will be looking for a new challenge when this deal expires in 2026.”
