ITV The Chase host Bradley Walsh taken aback by player’s startling admission

During Monday’s visit (January 13) to the  studios, beloved The Chase host welcomed four new quizzers onto the show looking to put their general knowledge to the test.

As fans tuned in for the primetime show, the former star introduced contestants Rob, Julie, Marco and Evie onto the programme where they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.

But it was player Evie, an optical assistant from Brighouse, England, who caught both the host’s and fans’ attention when she was asked what she does for fun.

She replied that she grew carnivorous plants. However, her pronunciation of the word “carnivorous” sounded startlingly similar to that of cannabis. Brad immediately gasped, “Say it again, you’ve got what?”

She then laughed and explained, again seeming to say cannabis plant, that they were milk jug-shaped plants that catch flies.

Fans at home were very confused and took to social media to react.

“Sorry, I believe I heard… cannabis plants?!” said one fan.

Another agreed: “Did she say cannabis plants?”

‘“Please don’t tell me I’m the only one who heard ‘cannabis plants’ at first?” asked a third user, while a fourth chimed in: “Brad: ‘What do you do to relax?’ Contestant: “Cannabis Brad.”

This week, the quartet went up against Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace who made sure to bring his A-game as he faced off against the wise players.
