Inside Love Island stars ‘feud’ – from ‘fake’ proposal, cheating claims to public spats

What started as a fairy-tale romance for champions Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti quickly spiralled into a saga of scandals and sorrow.

The lovebirds, who once seemed unbreakable, faced their first major setback with a breakup in June 2023. They briefly rekindled their love with a scenic escape to Turkey, Ekin-Su’s homeland, hoping to reforge their bond.

Yet, the allure of reconciliation faded fast as fresh allegations of infidelity and deceit surfaced, shredding their shaky truce and thrusting them back into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Davide allegedly left a party with with two blondes which made headlines in August 2022.

The accusations didn’t stop there; as Ekin-Su, who is geared up to appear on , claied Davide’s alleged deceit led to their breakup.

Despite the turmoil, the couple attempted to shield their relationship from the public eye. The former star expressed her intent to protect Davide amidst the cheating rumours, stating: “The TV personality said she did not want to be embarrassed amid the cheating allegations so did her best not to react publicly – but she also wanted to protect Davide.”

Ultimately, the strain proved too much. Ekin-Su announced their definitive split on , reflecting on their tumultuous relationship: “The last 18-months have been a rollercoaster of ups and downs, just like every relationship. Davide and I both wanted to make this work as we cared deeply for each other.

“Unfortunately, I have recently made the decision to end our relationship and to go our separate ways. Breakups are never easy. For any couple. And we hope that our privacy will be respected. I enjoyed our time together and the memories we made.”

As Ekin-Su, 29, gears up for a potential appearance on the All Stars 2025 series of Love Island, Italian stud Davide’s recent social media activity has fuelled further speculation.

He cryptically posted, “Protecting my peace, levelling up quietly,” stirring conversations among fans about his current state and possible return to the show.

The feud escalated when Davide, 28, addressed Ekin-Su’s allegations on Abbey Clancy’s podcast, denying a staged proposal accusations and condemning her public statements. “Her mother’s intervention in front of the Colosseum was the breaking point for me. I never got down on one knee and I never surprised Ekin with a fake proposal.

“There were always two different versions of Ekin. One at home with me and one for the public. I couldn’t tell how genuine she was during the relationship.”

He added that his name has been “dragged through the mud” and cannot tolerate it any longer: “All I wanted was to be left alone so we could all move on peacefully. However, my ex has repeatedly dragged my name and reputation through the mud to make herself look better and boost her own popularity. I can’t tolerate this any longer. It’s time to set the record straight.”

Davide stands firm on one of his most iconic digs of Ekin-Su, adding: “So, I stand by my previous descriptions of her as ‘a liar, an actress,’ and ‘fake like a Louis Vuitton from China’ as they were clearly accurate.”
