With over 20 ski resorts, Greece is set to make the country an alternative to other popular European locations such as the Alps, by investing in the expansion of ski facilities to attract both domestic and international visitors.
And the work has already begun.
Greece has launched marketing campaigns, promoting its ski resorts, mountain villages, and winter activites to highlight the diverse experiences the country has to offer.

Whether its skiing and snowboarding you want to enjoy or some delicious Mediterranean food by a fireplace, Greece appears to offer a chance for both and more.
With overtourism being the forefront of the push to market Greece as a year-round destination, the country also plans to add other measures to deal with the issue.
Popular islands, Mykonos and Santorini have introduced a €20 (£16.83) fee for cruise passengers who visit the islands for a few hours before returning to the ship.
It is set to come into play between April and October this year, when the islands are busiests so booking a Greece trip for the winter might just be more worth it.
