My Mum, Your Dad, has hit a production snag and is reportedly on hold.
The show, which is a dating programme for single parents and hosted by , has been shelved due to a lack of suitable middle-aged fathers.
Despite plans to commence filming later this year, the third series of My Mum, Your dad is said to have been “parked” for now, whilst the broadcaster hunts for more applicants that “fit the bill”.
This development emerged merely four months after the second series was broadcast in September last year, with the show’s inaugural series having premiered in 2023.
A source disclosed to : “Strangely there were lots of stunning women in the 45 to 65 bracket who wanted to take part, but a sad dearth of men who fitted the bill.

“This was a problem they encountered in 2024 when they tried to make the second series and just about managed to get enough candidates together.”
The insider pointed out the increased difficulty in recruiting participants for the would-be third series, adding: “But when it came to the third outing they realised it was just going to be too difficult, and decided taking a break might be the best option.”
An ITV spokesperson has hailed My Mum, Your dad as a roaring success, revealing it’s had a “fantastic audience response” since its debut.
Despite strong performances and a keen following, they told the publication: “There are currently no plans for a new series in 2025 owing to other priorities in our schedule, but we may revisit the show at some point beyond that.”
