At the end of the month, Britain could see a further blast of winter weather, with 25 counties set for in an icy polar blast.
The first month of the year has and ice, causing travel chaos and school closures, but the weather is not yet behind us.
Newly released weather data shows that large parts of Wales, Scotland and northern England could be set for a further coating of snow, although potentially not at the levels seen this month, which saw as much as 30cm fall in some areas.
The data shows that snow could fall on the weekend of January 25, accompanied by icy temperatures across the British Isles.
forecast for the period states: “Low pressure seems likely to increasingly influence the UK weather later in the period, with some rain and windier conditions affecting most if not all parts.

“Temperatures are likely to be generally a little above average, especially in the north, though more frost and fog patches are likely under clearer skies and lighter winds.”
The newly obtained data from WXCharts.com shows purple patches extending from the north of as far north as , indicating that snow is expected to fall at around midday on 26 January.
The weather map shows substantial rain across south England, with the capital set for around 5mm of downfalls per hour whilst it escapes the snow.

The weather data comes from Britain experiencing a cold snap across the country, with temperatures dwindling well below freezing.
Yesterday, Scotland recorded its lowest temperature in 15 years as the mercury fell to a staggering -18.9C.
Whilst temperatures are set to rise in the coming days, the has warned of the likelihood of adverse weather conditions towards the end of the month.
From January 27, the warns of a “dominant flow from the Atlantic” that is likely to usher in unsettled, wet, and windy weather for most of the country, with cold spells that could indicate more “frost, ice, and snow” risk for thousands.
