Carol, 64, made a veiled dig at the Reform UK leader as she reposted the article on X.
The former Countdown presenter wrote: “NEWS ‘Twelve Reform UK councillors to resign over ’s leadership’. Ooooofffffff Trouble a t’mill. Farage not making his councillors happy…who’d have thought it!!”
However, the TV star was called out for spreading “lies” as fans flocked to the comments to set her straight.
One wrote: “More lies. Reform membership is going up massively. Remember that. Nigel will become PM and Reform UK will win the next general election.”

A second agreed: “They’re not resigning, they haven’t been accepted, they failed or didn’t take the vetting process. Had they been kept on in a couple of months you’d be saying that Reform will take anyone. I think you’d do better looking at the credentials of some of your favoured party.”
Another commented: “Again with the fake news spreading. Have you checked that story out and the facts before you start the click bait post.”
A fourth remarked: “The lies. Get the facts first carol.”

“We had a rogue branch putting people up and I think you’ll find, in many cases, there will have to be by-elections because they were not legitimately put forward,” he said.
The 12 councilors – who hold two district council seats, nine town council seats and five parish council seats – are all from Derbyshire.
Alex Stephenson, who came second in Amber Valley during the general election, was included in the group.
As well as slamming the way Mr Farage chooses to run his party and its loss of direction, the councillors also accused the I’m A Celebrity star of “disloyalty” to long-term members.
