Roger Johnson hosted the show with Sally Nugent
Jon made headlines last week after addressing an “awkward” moment when he appeared on Celebrity Mastermind.
Jon competed against Beattie Edmonson, daughter of Adrian Edmonson, who starred in his chosen specialist subject, the iconic 1980s sitcom The Young Ones.
As Jon prepared to answer questions about the landmark comic series that Adrian appeared in, Beattie sat ready, having chosen US rock band The Strokes as her own area of expertise.
In his general knowledge stint, Jon disclosed to presenter Clive Myrie that his choice of The Young Ones was spurred by having interviewed Adrian Edmondson previously on Breakfast.
He said: “Little did I know you put me next to young ones royalty here tonight with Beattie here. I was actually interviewing her dad, Ade, oh, on Breakfast. That made me think about doing The Young Ones as my subject.”
Breakfast airs daily at 6am on One.
