Jonathan David
An easier target for Arteta’s side may be Lille frontman Jonathan David. The 24-year-old Canada striker has banged in 11 goals in Ligue 1 and four more in the Champions League this term after striking 26 times last season.
He is out of contract in the summer, which means he is free to agree a pre-contract with immediately.
But if the Gunners put some money on the table, Lille may consider sanctioning the player’s early exit to ensure they don’t lose him for nothing in a few months.
