There’s no question that the was one of the best set of smartphones we saw last year. Their mixture of impressive specs, smart design and top-notch cameras made them hard not to recommend but it seems the S24’s days are numbered. has now will be shown to the world later this month and they are sure to bring swathes of upgrades and shiny new features to those who love all things Android.

The grand unveiling has been set for January 22, with Samsung holding one of its famous Unpacked events in San Jose, California.

Things will kick off from 6pm GMT and expect to see three new call makers – Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra – that will replace Samsung’s current S24 flagship.

So what could be included on these new devices?

Firstly, we expect to Samsung to expand its Galaxy AI feature which were first announced last year. The S24 can already translate foreign calls in real-time, retouch images automatically, and make your notes more legible.

We’ll have to wait and see what’s next for Galaxy AI but we expect the S25 to be even smarter than before. Another update that seems highly likely is the inclusion of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

This impressive chip was announced late last year and packs quite a punch, with Qualcomm boasting that the 8 Elite has a 45 per cent power improvement over the 8 Gen 3 – it’s also more efficient meaning better battery life.

Of course, it’s almost certain that the S25 range will also get a camera boost, include better displays and tougher designs that can last longer in your pocket.

We also know that they will feature an upgrade called the “Now Bar” which will offer useful information on the screen depending on your most-used apps and features.

“The Now Bar – a feature that’s coming to our next Galaxy smartphones,” explained Annika Bizon, Director of Marketing and Omnichannel, and Head of Ireland – MX Division, Samsung UK & Ireland ahead of the S25 unveiling.

“It learns your everyday actions and most-used apps, bringing them into one space. You’ll be able to control entertainment, get directions to your next meeting or start communicating in other languages from one convenient access point.”

Expect plenty more surprises to be announced on January 22. Express.co.uk will bring you all the news live from San Jose – watch this space if you think you’re in need of an upgrade.
