During the latest instalment (January 11) of the reality show, Toad in the Hole and the Bear found themselves in the dreaded sing-off, with the star-studded judging panel deciding to send the Toad packing.
As the 39-year-old delivered the news, the star was seen storming off stage as Bear secured their place in next week’s show.
Moments later, Toad was escorted back on stage where they revealed themselves as the 90s pop sensation who appeared to be disappointed to be booted out of the competition.
Now, the beloved host has opened up about what it was like to film the jaw-dropping moment, admitting it was the “funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life”.
Speaking to on on Sunday (January 12), Joel joked that Macy couldn’t be disappointed about leaving the ITV show early because “you get the same money and you don’t have to do anything else.”

He told listeners: “This is why The Maske Singer is so good, it doesn’t matter if you’re a good singer or if you’re not, the show doesn’t sit in either camp.
“The case with Macy is she is a legend, she has a recognisable voice and she might as well go because we all know it is her, and they put the other person through because we still don’t know who they are.
“If you go home early though it is a win-win situation because you get the same money and you don’t have to do anything else.”
He went on: “You can’t be vexed when you’re dressed as a toad. In my professional career – I love Macy, she is incredible, great voice – but I have never witnessed anything more funny than a 6ft toad storming off. It’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.
“And my shorts, I suggested we make them shorter for each ad break as a joke, and they did it, and when she stormed off, I was in like hot pants.”
The star was forced to fill the silence after Macy walked off the stage when she became the latest star to be eliminated from the ITV show.
The American singer had to remove her costume head to reveal her identity while her co-star’s Bear, Wolf, Pufferfish, and Bush watched on.
After the show hit the airwaves, Joel reshared the explosive clip of him hosting the show as Macy walked off on his grid which he simply captioned: “lol”.
Meanwhile, judge Maya Jama shared a created by ITVX of Macy’s walk-off which she cheekily captioned: “Me at any inconvenience.”
