The Masked Singer’s Toad in The Hole was Macy Gray
viewers have accused American songstress Macy Gray of being “ungracious” after she hastily walked out – seemingly in protest at being eliminated from the show.
It’s customary for celebs participating in the show to publicly unmask themselves to reveal their identities when voted out, before leaving the competition. However, Macy was thought to have been miffed that she ended up in the bottom two, and that the judges then voted to save her competitor instead of her.
After learning that Bear would be saved, Macy – who’d appeared as Toad in the Hole – walked off without a word. Host Joel Dommett and judges , Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross, and were said to have been “frozen” and open-mouthed in astonishment over the stunt.
Joel was forced to step in and quickly improvise to entertain the equally stunned crowd. However, furious viewers at home weren’t taking her attitude lightly and took to X to brand her “a miserable diva”.
One fuming fan wrote: “God it’s only a bit of fun. What a miserable diva!”

Meanwhile, others were embarrassed on the show’s behalf, with a second fan cringing: “This is one of the most awkward moments ever. Macy is furious she’s out!”
Another saw the amusing side, joking: “Omg Macy Gray absolutely f*****g raging, this is so funny!”
Macy’s most famous single, ‘I Try’, which stormed the British charts in the late 1990s and even netted her a Grammy, includes the words: “Try to walk away and I stumble”.
However, fans hadn’t been expecting her to stumble professionally, with the majority who discussed it on X seeming unimpressed.
