Weather maps show areas that are likely to be impacted by snow
Britain is likely to be blasted by a as a huge covers several parts of the country in two weeks’ time, weather maps have suggested. However, around 24 counties in the UK may not witness cold conditions as the maps show no snow for these areas on January 25.
As per the generated on January 12, the cold snap will mostly impact the areas including Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle.
However, the northern areas of the country, surprisingly, may not witness the snowy conditions, maps from WXCharts, which uses Met Desk data, have suggested.
Counties of Caithness, Sutherland, Morayshire, Aberdeenshire, Perthshire, West lothian, Midlothian and Peebleshire are among the areas that may not turn white during the period, the maps show.
However, while these areas may not receive any snow, the temperature levels are still likely to plummet to -5C around Portree and Wick.

The ’s long-range forecast between January 17 and 26 reads: “High pressure will lie close to the southeast of the UK initially, with generally settled conditions across many parts.
“Cloud amounts will be variable, with some frost and fog in the south and east, this slow to clear, but some rain in the far northwest.
“A weakening frontal system looks like it will edge east across the UK over the weekend, before high pressure briefly builds back in from the west in its wake.
“Low pressure then seems likely to increasingly influence the UK weather later in the period, with some rain and windier conditions affecting most if not all parts.
“Temperatures are likely to be generally a little above average, especially in the north, though more frost and fog patches are likely under clearer skies and lighter winds.”
