“Also, I’m gonna show you how to prevent mould from growing there in the future,” he shared, saying: “The only thing you need is baking soda and water”.

He then explained how to do it, saying: “Gonna get some kind of bowl or dish, whatever you want, and you’re gonna pour some baking soda in there.

“And then you’re just gonna add a tiny bit of water to create a paste. You’re gonna wanna make enough to cover the entire area that’s affected by mould.”

He then showed the camera the thick, gloopy paste that he’d created, saying that once your paste looks like this, “you’re gonna go ahead and put on a glove and rub it all over the mould”.

Once you’ve rubbed it into the affected area, you need to “let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes” while it works its magic.

He explained: “Baking soda is going to absorb all the moisture that is causing the mould in the first place. Also, mould needs acidic conditions to grow, and the pH of baking soda is high, which is going to kill the mould.

“Also, the baking soda is going to remove the stains and the odours that are associated with mould.”

After you’ve waited 15 to 20 minutes, “you’re gonna go ahead and wipe that off” according to the content creator.

Now, you’re going to “prevent mould from coming back in the future” you’re going to “make a solution using baking soda and water”.

“But you’re just gonna fill the spray bottle up with water and pour a little bit of baking soda in there and shake it up so it dissolves”, he shared, saying that the amount you put in “doesn’t really matter”.

He explained that you need to spray the solution all over the walls, “wherever there was mould,” and it will “leave a little bit of baking soda residue behind,” but he said this is “what you want” as it will “prevent mould from growing there again”.

We’d recommend doing a patch test on your wall to check the solution doesn’t impact your paint job. If successful, you can then apply the solution to a wider area.

So will you be giving the a go? It sounds simple enough, so could definitely be orth a try.
