The seaside town in Spain loved by celebs where house prices hit record high

A beautiful in which is loved by many celebrities has hit a new high with its soaring . Santa Eulària des Riu, a municipality in Ibiza, has hosted various celebrities who visit for its charm, tranquility and luxury. 

The coastal town offers a blend of scenic beaches, fine dining and cultural heritage, and has a more relaxed and refined vibe than  ‘s party areas.  

In 2024, the average house price in the town was £7,058 per m2 for a resale home, a report from the Fotocasa real estate portal revealed. Ibiza City came second with £5,860 per m2.

There were nine municipalities with average prices above 5,000 euros per square metre – Santa Eulària des Riu with £7,050 headed the list, followed by Ibiza (£5,868), Calvia with £5,567, Sant Josep de sa Talaia (Ibiza) on £4,991, Sant Antoni with £4,893 euros, Andratx (£4,817), Pollensa 5,167 euros, Santanyi on £4332, and Campos with £4286.

Celebrities such as Swedish actress Alicia Vikander, known for her roles in Tomb Raider, The Danish Girl and Jason Bourne, and Inglourious Basterds star Michael Fassbender have enjoyed this part of Ibiza.

The area also boasts celebrity-favoured establishments like the Peruvian rooftop restaurant Maymanta at Aguas de Ibiza, which frequently attracts high-profile visitors.

It is reported that the Balaeric Islands in fact had some of the biggest price increases in Spain. The average price of second-hand housing in the country closed 2024 with an annual increase of 8.4 percent, reports . 

According to the report, that was the biggest hike recorded in the since it started 19 years ago.

The region features stunning villas and properties that often serve as private residences or vacation homes for the rich and famous.

Close to the seaside town is Can Rimbau, a gated community known for its luxury villas and breathtaking sea views. The area offers high security and exclusivity, making it a preferred choice for celebrities and business elites​.

Meanwhile, Santa Eulària is the only town in Ibiza with a river, Riu de Santa Eulària, which historically provided water for agriculture and powered mills. Although much of the river has dried up, its historical importance is commemorated with walking paths and scenic bridges.

Not only this, but the town also has a vibrant culinary reputation, with restaurants offering both local Ibizan dishes and international cuisine.

The famous markets, such as the one in Es Canar, are a must-visit for unique souvenirs, handcrafted items, and a lively bohemian vibe.

Visitors can go for water sports including snorkeling, paddleboarding, and sailing.

The town is quieter compared to Ibiza’s party hotspots like Sant Antoni or Ibiza Town, making it ideal for families and those seeking relaxation.
