Joshua Zirkzee has ended rife speculation surrounding his future by informing that he wants to stay at the club this month, according to reports. The struggling striker has been strongly linked with a quick exit in the January transfer window but appears ready for the battle to come good at Old Trafford.
United splashed £36.5million to sign Zirkzee in the summer after an impressive season at Bologna – the first deal overseen by ‘s new-look football hierarchy.
The 23-year-old couldn’t have started any better, scoring the winning goal off the bench to beat Fulham 1-0 on opening weekend.
However, he has endured a miserable time of things in the months since, netting just three times in 27 appearances.
Irate home supporters booed and jeered Zirkzee in uncomfortable scenes after replaced him with Kobbie Mainoo in response to United cruising into an early 2-0 lead last month.
The Netherlands international stormed down the tunnel immediately after his 33rd-minute withdrawal before returning to the bench with his hood up.
United’s decision to sack the manager who brought him to the club, , only fuelled talk of Zirkzee leaving at the earliest opportunity.
But Sky Germany that he has made it clear that he has no intention of giving up on his United career this winter.

It’s claimed that Zirkzee believes he can become a success in English football and is determined to overcome his early woes and prove himself to Amorim and the fanbase.
Juventus have been at the forefront of links to the Red Devils No. 11, given he has already proven he can make an impact in the Serie A.
However, the report adds that while the Old Lady are interested, there haven’t been any signs that they are ready to formalise their admiration, nor have there been talks between the two parties.
That said, Zirkzee’s situation could change by the summer. United are said to be accelerating their attempts to bolster Amorim’s attacking firepower before the January deadline.
Sky Germany also that the M16 giants’ efforts to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani are becoming increasingly concrete.
United are understood to have held direct talks with the 26-year-old’s representatives, and discussions with PSG are set to follow.
Club chiefs are reportedly ready to do everything possible to sign Kolo Muani on an initial loan deal with an option to make it permanent this summer.
But AC Milan, Aston Villa, , Juventus and are also said to be in the running for the wantaway Frenchman’s signature.
