Drivers are being urged to put blankets on their cars
Drivers in England are being warned to put blankets on their car until at least Monday as and ice continue to cause problems.
Right now, , ice, frost and freezing rain are causing chaos on UK roads, with cars stuck on driveways under a layer of frozen ice.
Temperatures have , while daytime temperatures especially in the north of England and Scotland haven’t even reached as high as 0C. It’s seriously cold.
It means drivers have faced a constant battle with snow and ice freezing to car windscreens.

And according to forecasts, snow and ice is set to continue over Friday and Saturday and temperatures won’t fully warm up again until at least Monday.
On Monday, temperatures could rise as high as 9C, meaning cars might not be frozen by the time you need to get to work or do the school run. Until then, you can use a blanket on your car windscreen to stop snow and ice forming.
A winter car cover is a blanket you can put over your car or van to protect it from the harsh winter weather.
Insure2Drive said a blanket “keeps your car warm, so frost is less likely to gather on the windscreen” adding that you’re less likely to have trouble starting your car on cold winter mornings.

It said: “Snow and ice can damage your car’s windscreen or paintwork, so a winter car cover can help prolong your car’s lifespan.
“Low temperatures can also damage engines and metalwork, but a winter car cover can prevent the vehicle from freezing over.”
The company added: “But they aren’t always cheap. Some winter covers can be expensive, particularly if you need to buy a large one for a van. Not everybody will want to deal with the hassle of putting the cover on and taking it off between journeys.
“But even in milder climates, they can make it that little bit easier to start your car or van on freezing mornings so worth considering.”
Of course, if you don’t want to fork out for a proper insulated blanket, a simple old bedding blanket put over your windscreen should do the trick.
