has reportedly submitted plans to extend his £8 million Cotswolds mansion with a huge “party barn” for socialising with his celebrity friends.

The judge moved to the Cotswolds bolthole in 2022 with his fiancee Lauren Silverman and their son Eric, 10.

The media mogul escaped to the country from his £45 million home in London’s Holland Park following a , one of which occurred while Simon, Lauren and Eric were asleep in bed.

His decision followed in the footsteps of several A-list stars, including Kate Moss, the and .

According to reports, the extension would cover 793sq ft – roughly the size of a two-bedroom house. But Simon’s building agents describe it as “minor in scale”.

The plans suggest the space would be dedicated to entertaining his friends and family while doubling up as a games room for Eric and Lauren’s son Adam, 19, whom she has from a previous relationship, the reports.

The eight-acre estate overlooks a picturesque village in West Oxfordshire and features a wild swimming pond and an indoor pool.

A source said: “All the self-respecting celebrities in the Cotswolds have a party barn nowadays – Kate Moss and had them built fairly recently…

“A lot of socialising happens at home in the Cotswolds – there aren’t celebrity clubs and restaurants dotted all over the place like in London.

“Simon’s home is large already but what is missing was a dedicated socialising space to host parties which will also double as very large games room for the kids to have their friends over.”

It comes as Simon in Blackpool after they were postponed following death.

He was joined by , Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli on Tuesday and they will continue to film into February.

Simon previously shared how his time on the show has been after he sparked concern among fans after missing two audition episodes.

He explained at the time: “For anyone concerned, I missed two auditions at the end of one day, two weeks ago, because I do get migraines after long days in the filming lights.

“Next week we are filming BGT in Manchester – I look forward to seeing you then. PS. This is why I wear these glasses!”
