are dealing with “mammoth demand” as a tidal wave of adds to strain on facilities across the country.
The number of patients on wards with flu increased by a fifth from 4,469 at the end of December to 5,408 last week, data showed.
Analysis of the figures has revealed the average number of patients on wards at each NHS trust in .
The list is arranged alphabetically and reads, from left to right: name of NHS trust; average number of flu patients per day in the week ending January 5; average number (in brackets) of flu patients per day in the preceding week ending December 29.
