Families planning a meal out to beat the January blues can grab some bargain deals, Martin Lewis has highlighted.
In the latest edition of the Money Saving Expert , he pointed to some tasty deals at big name chains including Pizza Express and Zizzi.
Mr Lewis said: “Restaurants are quieter in January, so chains including Toby Carvery, BrewDog, Harvester, Franco Manca and more have restaurant discounts to entice you.”
He shared with more information from the savings site about ‘Top January restaurant offers’. On the menu is 2 for 1 at Pizza Express, allowing you to buy one full-price ‘Classic’ or ‘Leggera’ pizza, and then you can get another for just £1.
Your cheapest of the two pizzas will be reduced to £1, with pizzas costing between £11 and £16, so a potential slice of £15 off your bill. This includes the vegan Giardiniera pizza. The offer is available until January 30.
Brewdog fans can get a similar buy one, get one for £1 offer on on pizzas and burgers if you book online. Pizzas can cost between £12 and £15 while burgers are from £13 to £16. Vegan options are available.
The deal does not apply for takeaway or delivery, or for walk-ins. The discount is available until February 16.
Franco Manca is offering pizzas from its main menu or specials board for £5, down from the standard price between £7 and £13.50.
You will need to download the app and fill in a form to claim the discount. The offer is available until January 31.
Diners can also get half price at some popular venues, although some of these deals expire very soon. Toby Carvery is offering 50 percent off main meals for app, dine-in or click and collect. The offer is available until January 10.

Mexican food fans can get £10 off your bill when you spent at least £20 at Las Iguanas, for dine-in only. The offer is on the menu until January 31.
If you’re looking for a sweet treat, Bill’s is offering £5 for bottomless pancakes on Fridays, until February 7.
The Real Greek is also offering a £5 souvlaki wrap, saving you £4 off the normal £9 price. This is for those dining in, available until January 31.
