Britain’s favourite ever gameshow and host have been revealed – with almost a quarter of the country being in agreement.
A recent survey of 2,000 TV viewers conducted in conjunction with launch. It showed that The Chase came out on top as the UK’s top gameshow – with 22% of survey respondents choosing this option.
Other gameshows making the top spots include another ITV hit, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (15%) and The Crystal Maze (11%). Meanwhile, Tipping Point, and Pointless are tied in fourth place (7%).
At the other end of the spectrum, hit 90s and early 2000s Fort Boyard comes in bottom spot of the nation’s favourite classic TV gameshows.
The poll results proved to be a double whammy of success for the much-loved ITV show. Presenter Bradley Walsh has been confirmed as Brits’ favourite gameshow host, with nearly a quarter of respondents picking the presenter (24%).

Not far behind him was Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Clarkson’s Farm star, , with 11% of the vote. Meanwhile, Pointless host Alexander Armstrong and Tipping Point’s are tied in third place (6%).
University Challenge’s Amol Rajan proved to be least popular on the list with just 2% of survey respondents selecting him as their favourite host.
Back in September, the nation’s “best quizzer” was also revealed, with one star winning almost 80 percent of the shows they have taken part in.
Since its launch in 2009 the Chasers have become household names thanks to the quick fire answers and formidable track records. Out of the 2145 shows aired in that time, contestants have only “beaten the Chaser” 507 times.

The Chase and Bradley Walsh came out on top
According to , one Chaser is the hardest to beat. That is , who has won 370 of the 465 shows she has taken part in.
Coming in at second is Jenny “The Vixen” Ryan, who has won 79.3 percent of her 246, with contestants winning an average payout of £4,305.
Mark Labbett and Shaun Wallace have the lowest win percentages of the six. Mark has won 75.5 percent of his 473 appearances with criminal barrister Shaun winning 70 percent of his 447 outings.
