Following Justin Trudeau’s long-awaited announcement that he will (eventually) step down as Canada’s Liberal leader and prime minister, his ex-wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau appeared to be living her best life.

Gregoire Trudeau has shared some telling messages on her Instagram Stories lately and it has many of her followers and fans wondering if she is referring to her ex-husband.

Over the weekend, she shared a photo that featured a drawing of a faceless woman with long, flowing hair at three different times — 2023, 2024 and 2025.

The photo representing 2023, when the Trudeaus announced their split, shows the woman weeping into her hands. The 2024 woman appears to be looking hopeful as some greenery starts to bear fruit in front of her and by 2025 the woman is sitting cross-legged in a blooming garden, appearing content.

The former eTalk host also shared two quotes.

“My mental health really changed when I stopped asking myself, ‘Why am I so emotional?’ and started asking, ‘What is my body trying to tell me right now?,” the first quote says.

The second quote appears to be more telling: “Toxic relationships inflame your nervous system. Healthy ones do not just support it, they heal it.”

Gregoire Trudeau also shared a reel featuring Dr. Mark Hyman, who talks about the power of love and that “love is medicine.”

In the video, Hyman notes: “We know if you’re in a conflictual relationship, you will turn on genes of inflammation which cause disease and aging. If you are in a loving, connected, heart-centred relationship, you are activating all the repair genes.” He also mentions how cuddling can change your epigenome, which Sophie mentioned when she shared his reel, writing, “Hooray for cuddling!”

On Sunday, the 49-year-old posted a reel of her on a ski vacation with her children.

“Born to ski!,” she wrote in a message overlaying the video. “Red Mountain slopes, powder and people; you rock! Thank you for an epic time! SHRED RED.”

The following day, Trudeau made his emotional resignation speech outside of Rideau Cottage in Ottawa.

In August 2023, the Trudeaus revealed in a joint statement on their respective Instagram accounts that they were separating after 18 years of marriage.
