Princess Charlotte’s outfit had a discreet link to her uncle Prince Harry
wowed royal fans on Christmas Day last year as she stepped out with other senior royals for the annual festive walkabout.

However, while the majority of the headlines from the day focused on her matching outfit to mum Princess Kate, it is only now that some people have realised one small outfit detail linking the princess to her estranged uncle .
Although Charlotte has not seen the prince for a number of years, it has been reported that she was sporting a very expensive ruby necklace designed by his ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy, who was and Princess Kate for a number of years.
, the necklace worn by Charlotte on Christmas Day was from Davy’s jewellery brand AYA, which designed the necklace in collaboration with Gemfields. It is believed the jewellery item is worth £1,500.

It is not known when Charlotte first received the necklace or whether Kate remains in touch with Chelsy, who dated from 2004 until 2011.
The pair’s relationship often dominated royal news, with the couple having first met in Cape Town.
Their friendship quickly evolved into a relationship, with Davy attending various events with the prince including King Charles’s 60th birthday. She also in April 2011.
It is believed she did not enjoy being in the spotlight, with her desire to maintain as much of her privacy as possible – something that came frequently more challenging as her relationship with Harry continued.

It is not known whether or Princess Kate, both 42, still talk to Chelsy, who they were good friends with for a number of years, or who gave Charlotte the necklace.
