Man Utd icon Paul Scholes has aimed fire at Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Paul Scholes has laid into with a merciless rant about his first year as co-owner, claiming he can’t think of one positive change he has overseen since entering power. Ratcliffe has made a series of ruthless decisions since investing over £1.5billion in his boyhood club in February.
The 72-year-old has taken drastic measures to balance the books and ease United’s losses, including making over 250 employees redundant and axing staff benefits like the Christmas party.
Supporters have also felt the brunt of his so-far unpopular regime, with all remaining unsold tickets bumped up to £66 for the remainder of the season, removing concessions.
And Scholes has expressed his outrage over that particular decision, having been left bemused by how Ratcliffe can expect fans to pay significantly more to watch one of United’s worst-ever sides.
“[INEOS Group] have been in charge [of ] for nearly a year now and everything is still negative,” Scholes shared on .
“I can’t think of something positive that they’ve done for the football club.
“Things are getting worse on the football pitch, so couldn’t they have just said that they’d do cheaper tickets – couldn’t they just give us something positive?
“How can you ask fans to pay more money with what’s on the football pitch? £66 for a ticket is ridiculous.
“If you think of Manchester, there are so many deprived areas, and himself is from Failsworth – which is a deprived area.

“If you take one kid with you, that’s £120. If you take a family, you’re looking at £300-400 – it’s not right.”
Scholes also accused Ratcliffe of not really caring about the club, citing the staggering ticket price hike as proof.
The Red Devils icon continued: “Where do these owners get the front to put ticket prices up?
“For the value – we’re [] probably having our worst ever season, and they’ve got the cheek to put the prices up.
“There is nothing positive happening with that football club []. The team look bang average. They’re not doing anything for fans.
“If we’ve got , compared to all these American owners, who’s been a United fan since growing up in an area in Manchester – he’s still hiking prices up. It just shows that they don’t care.”
Ratcliffe will stress that every decision he makes is for United’s long-term benefit as the question of how the club will fund a new state-of-the-art stadium looms ever larger.
But his addition in ill-mannered chants about the disfavored Glazer family suggests he has plenty of work to do to get the fanbase on his side.
