The Reform UK leader hailed the new move
Nigel Farage has celebrated a major new announcement by Mark Zuckerberg, after the social media kingpin announced a huge u-turn to the way Facebook censors political content.
On Tuesday Meta, the corporation that owns the social media platform, announced it will “dramatically reduce the amount of censorship” on Facebook, as well as changing the algorithm so it recommends more political content.
It’s a move that could significantly help right-wingers like Reform UK and in the US, who have frequently complained about censorship on the platform over the past few years.
The news comes shortly after former Lib Dem deputy PM Nick Clegg announced his departure from the company, having served at the tech giant for six years.

Mr Farage championed the move, telling followers: “It’s happened – Nick Clegg is out! Today Mark Zuckerberg’s given a big statement saying ‘we’re going back to our roots as a home of free speech’.
“We’re even going to be allowed to talk about immigration, all those third party checkers that were blocking accounts, they’re all being fired.
“They’ll have community notes just like X does. This is great news for our community.
“It means I’ll give you content you can spread without fear of being shut down or suspended.
“Facebook is back. Trump is back. Free speech is back, and woke has just died!”
Mark Zuckerberg confirmed the major U-turn in a video message today, suggesting the move came as a result of ‘s impending inauguration.
The tech giant said Meta’s “factcheckers have just been too politically biased and have destroyed more trust than they’ve created”.
He will also be moving his moderation teams from left-leaning California to Republican Texas, saying it’s an area “where there is less concern about the bias of our teams”.
