Mark Wright’s grandfather has passed away just weeks after the former TOWIE star announced .
Eddie had been battling with his health since the summer after a fall landed him in hospital. In a statement released to MailOnline, a spokesperson shared that Eddie died at the age of 92 “surrounded by his loved ones”.
They said: “Mark’s grandad passed away last night. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones.”
Back in June, Mark’s father, Mark Snr. shared the concerning news of Eddie’s hospital stay after a fall on Father’s Day.
He posted a heartfelt tribute alongside a photo of Eddie, expressing his admiration and love: “Happy Father’s Day to the best – unfortunately in hospital at the moment after a fall a couple of days ago, but dad I’m on my way up to see you now.”

In a touching conclusion to his post, Mark Snr. encouraged his father to “Keep strong.”
Eddie, a former champion boxer and paramedic, joined his grandson Mark on the series Who Do You Think You Are? in 2019.
Mark, 37, shared how his grandfather was the reason he went on the show.
“I’ve wanted to find out our family history forever, as my Grandad has always guessed where we’re from. But nobody’s ever known,” he said. “He was told my family of his that we were Italian and to be able to give this back to him is great. He’s done so much for us, he’s our king.”
Mark added: “It’s hard to repay him but this was that moment before it’s too late.”

The reality star has often publicly celebrated his grandfather, recalling fondly in a 2019 episode of This Morning: “He’s done so much for our family, my granddad, all our lives. Like he’s our king. To us, he’s the best granddad you could ever have.”
During the pandemic, Mark’s close relationship with his grandfather led to an emotional moment on his radio show.
Moved by a caller’s story about a veteran paramedic, Mark shared: “Sorry, I’m getting a bit choked up there. I’m missing my granddad very much, granddad Eddie. I love you loads and I can’t wait to see you soon.”
Eddie’s death comes less than two weeks after Mark announced he was expecting his first child with wife .
They posted a heartwarming beach photo featuring Michelle cradling her bump and smiling at Mark as he strolled towards her.
Clad in coordinated white ensembles, the couple captioned the cherished moment: “2025 is going to be a special one for us..”
