might’ve pocketed a whopping £500,000 for his triumph, but the teenage sensation has already handed a similar figure back to the tax man.

Littler achieved his dream on Friday evening when he demolished three-time world champion in the final at Alexandra Palace.

The Warrington-based star, who doesn’t even turn 18 until later this month, barely had to lift a finger en route to lifting the Sid Waddell Trophy, with darts fans now asking how many world titles the Nuke will win in his career.

But if things go to plan and Littler goes on to defend his Ally Pally crown, alongside winning other tournaments on the Pro Tour and elsewhere, the darting prodigy will continue to see hefty chunks of his winnings disappear.

On the prospect of matching Taylor’s record, Littler told Sky Sports on Friday night: “Deep down, if I want to try and break the record of Phil Taylor’s then I’m sure I’ve got the ability to.

“If I want it, I’m sure I’ll do it. I just need to keep going. The calendar is stacked all year round. I’ve said in previous interviews, if I win every major title in my career I’ll be happy, but obviously I’d like to add to the world titles.”

Littler will now enjoy a couple of weeks’ break before getting back on the board ahead of another packed 2025 schedule.

On what he plans to do in the aftermath of the World Championship final, he added: “It’s been a long three weeks here in London, I can’t wait to go home, chill out, obviously not block myself away from everyone, but just be with the family and message my friends. And obviously I love my Xbox so I’ll see who’s online.

“Just get back to normal and don’t make anyone change what I do.”

His first task when back at the oche as the newly crowned reigning world champion will be to defend his Bahrain Masters title, which he won in the Middle East 12 months ago.

Following that, Littler will compete in his first major of the year when the Masters rolls around at the end of January.
