‘I saved £14,000 over Christmas with these simple money tricks’

It’s that time of year when many of us feel skint post and New Year’s Eve celebrations and are looking for ways to save extra cash.

Many of us make resolutions about our as the new year rolls around but sticking to them isn’t always easy. One frugal man has shared how he managed to save over £16,000 last month thanks to some easy tricks. The frugal man decided to change his way of life after finding himself in £104,150 of debt.

Bradley, 32, manages to save thousands by eating the same meal every day – using store brand products – and he only owns one plate. He makes sure he unplugs all of his appliances when he leaves the house, and insists on never turning on the heating – no matter how cold he is.

The savvy saver, who lives in Connecticut in the US, spent just £1,026 over Christmas. His biggest expense was £600 on his rent, £66.93 on car insurance, £47.02 on petrol, £41.45 on electricty, £36.70 on internet and £147 on food. All he spend on having fund was £37.48 and gifts he spent £33,50.

Bradley earns at least £8,000 a month through his conent creation, being a financial coach, dog sitting, answering calls on a crisis hotline, gardening and cleaning houses. In December he earnt over £15K and spent just over £1,000.

The content creator, who has over 500,000 followers, said: “I know some of you think all I do is stare at a wall all day, but I actually have a really fun life. It’s just all about having self control and moderation.”

Bradley, who has saved almost £200,000, says that the best ways to save money is to not have any subscriptions, say no to coffee out, no health insurance, no TV or cable, no shopping and no phone family plan.

He says going out to eat is “expensive and stupid”. On his page, @baddie.brad, he said: “Literally one of the easiest ways to start saving every month is to start cooking your food at home. Wake up.”

The bargain lover, who says his parents live an overcomsumption lifstyle, says that he only spends money if it going to be on something memorable – and claimed he would never buy a car, or clothes he would barely wear. Plus, he says he has “no desire” to buy a house.

Bradley added: “I have everything that I need and learned to be grateful for it which doesn’t make me desire wanting more.”
