You love your pet, but that doesn’t mean you love having their hair all over your home, clothes and car. If you’ve been looking to leap over a Dyson pet hair vacuum, you’ll be pleased to know that today the Dyson Ball Animal 3 is 25% off.
It’s a newer upright, bagless model of Dyson’s beloved Animal vacuums designed for pet lovers, which are notable for sucking up pet hair from all sorts of surfaces, like couches, cars, rugs and even your literal pet. With a detangling motorbar that clears pet hair from the brush as you clean, you won’t have to stop and unclog it as you tidy up your home.
This edition comes with four interchangeable tools and heads, including a stair tool, a tangle-free turbine tool for taking pet hair off furniture and cars, a combination tool for hard-to-reach areas like blinds and ceilings and a pet grooming tool that you can actually use on medium- and long-haired pets.
With a 35-foot cord and a 15-foot hose, this vacuum has a 50-foot reach, letting you clean major areas of your home without unplugging and replugging. It has three cleaning modes for different floor types and the signature Dyson hygienic clean button that lets you empty the bin without getting your hands dirty.

“Love this vacuum! We have a hairy dog! Anyone with a hairy dog knows how challenging it is to keep rugs and cars ‘hair free’. After the first use, I had vacuumed enough hair to make a 2nd dog and we only have carpet in the bedroom, and a big rug in the living room and dining room… we have a Roomba for everyday use (which is great on the wood floors – and it does go over the 3 rugs as well), but, I was shocked at how much hair this vacuum picked up on 3 rugs – enough to make my fur baby a “buddy’!!! The vacuum is very agile and moves around furniture and dog beds easily….. I actually bought this vacuum to use in my Tahoe! The only 2 ‘cons’ are: 1) the vacuum is rather heavy to lift…but being the optimist I am, I figure I am building arm muscle and 2) it is a bit loud (for those with sensitive ears turn up the music or put in ear plugs)…..in my world this is not relevant but for many people they may want to be aware of this.
For my Tahoe, I fold down the back seats, set the vacuum up inside the Tahoe and because the handle of the vacuum goes perpendicular down, and the agility of the vacuum, I was able to vacuum the back quite easily and it worked like a champ! It was a bit challenging to get under the seats and in the corners (where dog hair loves to go), but the attachments worked well enough. I pulled out the floor liners and vacuumed them on the ground. There was not 1 dog hair left on the floor liners. With patience and little bit of “elbow grease” I got rid of about 95% of the hair in my Tahoe, which again, anyone with a hairy dog, knows this actually a good %. I have not yet tried the attachment that can actually be used on the Dog but based on how well the vacuum performed in getting my Tahoe “dog hair clean”, I am thinking it will most likely work like a champ (provided I can get him near the vacuum).” — Irene Shepard
“We only have one carpet in our house and I didn’t want to spend $400 on a vacuum for one carpet, but I finally gave in. I am 100% happy I did. We were an Electrolux family for years, they suctioned very well, but I hated the water clean up for them. This, this suctions even better! Had zero problems dealing with the fur in our carpet, and I had to vacuum it 3 times to get all the dirt out of it. So yes it is pricey, but yes it is worth it. If you want clean – this vacuum is it! Even if you don’t have pets, its worth it.” —MK
“So we’ve had a Shark cordless battery vacuum for a while and were repeatedly frustrated with the lack of power and the short battery life where I finally gave in and bought the Dyson when it was 25% off. All I can say is WOW. I had just gone over a dining room rug with our Shark, and after using the Dyson, it was like the other vacuum didn’t even do anything. There was so much pet hair, dirt, dust, etc. that it seemed like the Shark never even worked at all. The Shark may have picked up the surface dirt, but the Dyson actually pulled everything out of that rug that wasn’t attached. SUPER impressed and worth every penny. I should have bought this a long time ago.” — Dan Hanisch
“I just bought this vacuum and I am impressed with how well it sucks up the dirt on my carpets! I bought my first Dyson Animal Vacuum 14 years ago and I am sold on buying an Animal Dyson Vacuum! About 3 months ago, my Dyson starter to shut itself off after I vacuumed 2 rooms. I have always emptied the dirt out of my vacuum after I finished cleaning my 1700 square feet house. I was forced to empty it after cleaning just 2 rooms and let it sit for an hour while it cooled off, then it would work again. So, I figured it was time to buy a new one. My new vacuum is Outstanding!!! I read lots of reviews before deciding to buy this one. It has 3 settings, floor, carpet and deep cleaning for carpets. It run more quiet and the head is slightly smaller so I can go under my dining room chairs. I got lucky because when I was looking for the right Animal Vacuum 3, it was on sale. Even if it is not on sale, I would buy this vacuum! It’s a well made machine and will last for Years to come. Get one, you’ll be happy you made this purchase.” — Cynthia S.
“Very powerful vac, and love the bagless feature. This is my 3rd Dyson, wouldn’t own anything else. First Dyson I had (not a ball model, early 2000 model) I still use at a Museum where I volunteer. Only problem I’ve had with Dyson Ball is after about 10 years the plastic section with the top handle broke off. Husband glued it back on, it lasted a few more years then broke again. Might glue it back on and use it at the family business, (they have a terrible Bissell there). Though the handle is the weak point, the rest of the vac lasts an eternity (might replace hose once in 10 years). I’m just going to be very careful with how I twist the handle when I’m running this one. Also, when I take it out of the upright position, I’ll grab the fat part of the handle, not just the very top to push down on it. Dyson’s don’t have a pedal like other vacs to change from upright position, instead you push on the handle to change and you’ll hear a “snap” that takes it out of upright. CARE: Every time I empty the canister, I release it from the clear cylinder (easy to do) and run an old toothbrush over the small screen of air holes, and sometimes inside the cone, and tap the cylinder lightly on the ground outside to shake more dust out.” —Pattii55
