Cruise ship passengers are being warned not to pay for a popular on board package
are being issued a warning to not pay for this “rip off” popular on board package.
In a world where we are so used to being connected to the internet it is hard for many to imagine a day where you could not access their favourite websites.
As such, people across the world often rely on Wi-Fi to stay connected online, no matter where we are or what we are doing.
There is something to be said for disconnecting yourself from the internet and immersing yourself in more in person activities – but being cut off whilst on holiday doesn’t suit everyone.
Now cruise experts Don and Heidi, from Eat Sleep Cruise, are warning passengers that paying for Wi-Fi could in fact be a rip off.

Paying for wi-fi whilst on a cruise could be a ‘rip off’
In a YouTube video labelled ‘The Cruise Rip-Offs Experts NEVER Pay For on a Cruise’ the pair said: “There are a number of avid cruisers who still claim they never pay for wifi or internet on a cruise.
“For lots of people cruising is a time to get away and unplug.
“In fact some people lock their phones away in their cabins safe.”
Wi-Fi charges vary by cruise line and can be based on the amount of data used, the length of the package, or the types of online services used.
Whilst on a cruise passengers often have the choice to pay for Wi-Fi per day or opt for a pay as you go service. Either option can result in being costly for avid cruisers.

For example with P&O passengers can pay £20 for Wi-Fi the entire day or £30 per day as a pay as you go option.
But Don and Heidi advise passengers to “utilise service” while in ports.
They said: “If you opt for paying for pay-as-you-go option on a cruise ship wifi check your cell carrier’s coverage plan you may be able to take your phone out of aeroplane mode to utilise service while in ports of call for no additional fees.”
The added: ““Remember to put your phone back in aeroplane mode when you board the ship, otherwise you could rack up roaming charges.”
